How It Works
The Community Challenge is simple: teams compete on a leaderboard to raise cash for local charities then come together to walk and celebrate with the community on event day. But for some organizations (maybe yours?), there’s an even bigger way to get involved, by becoming a Challenge Partner. Here’s how:
5 Teams
When you recruit 5+ teams across multiple locations, you create a real NationaLocal experience for your group.
Connect & Compete
5+ teams is the perfect way to connect with your members across the country or compete against other chapters or similar groups in other towns.
Commit to Fundraising
Your 5+ teams must commit to raising $10,000 or more. What a great way to engage your members and inspire action!
Have Some Fun
Your folks will have free reign to get creative and show off their passion for both the event and for helping people in need.
Walk “Together”
Whether your teams are located in Colorado, Kentucky, or Connecticut, you will all walk “together” in the event on the same day at the same time.

If you’re interested in recruiting 5+ teams to become a Challenge Partner, but aren’t sure if others are already involved, we can help. We have a full view of all registered Challenge teams and can connect you with similar groups or assist you in reaching out to other chapters.
I work in the head office of a community organization, can I organize this?
Absolutely! We’d love to chat and figure out the best way for your organization to get involved. We can help you rally teams, plan your communications, and provide the tools needed to support your efforts.
How do you vet the local charities?
All Blue Sea Charity Partners are in good standing with the CRA / IRS, have taken Blue Sea’s Charity Partner training, and signed an annual agreement committing to operate the event the Blue Sea way.
Do we have to raise money for your Charity Partners? Or can we fundraise for a charity of our choice?
All Challenge Partners must fundraise for the host Charity Partner in their specific event location. All Blue Sea Charity Partners are vetted and provide much-needed services in their local communities.
Do our teams need to walk in the same location?
No — your teams can walk at any of our event locations from coast to coast!
Can we sponsor the event instead of joining the Challenge?
Yes. All locations accept sponsorships, independently. If you’re looking to sponsor a single location, reach out to the charity directly. If you’re hoping to sponsor multiple locations, we can help! Contact us to learn more.
Where does the money go? Does it stay local?
100% of net proceeds will go towards the local charities that your teams are fundraising for. You can find more information on our financial model and community impact here.
